Led by growers with Midlothian Valley Farms, who have 17 years experience collecting, storing and now selling seeds. This conversation will cover the essentials and a chance to ask questions of experienced, organic growers.
Kara Mitchell of Myco-op will share from experience growing Shiitake and Oyster mushrooms on logs and offer stories of ways and other fungi regional growers are using. These may be combined with welcome stories of other circle participants.
Over many years, local gardener Dave Shiel has grown sweet and hot peppers and has learned many lessons. He is happy to share them with others in the conversation circle. This includes the use of greenhouses for starting seeds and for both indoor and outdoor growth and harvest.
"In the middle of winter, a little seed sleeps snuggly deep within the earth..."
This story not only introduces the plant life cycle, but it can be a great resource for parents and mentors to explain the importance of believing in your dreams.
