Show takes place at the Harvey Pinkerton Heavy Horse Ring on the SRMAS Fair grounds.

History of Horse Pulling

The sport of horse pulling competitions, originated when these gentle giants were still used for daily farm work. Farmers would challenge one another to see whose team could pull the most weight.

Since then, horse pulling competitions has evolved into an organized sport with teams of equine athletes.

Drawing Contest Rules

1. All competitors must show current proof of $2,000,000.00 liability insurance with policy number, name of insurance company and expiry date on entry forms.

2. The SRMAS expects all animals to be treated in a humane manner. Any exhibitor or representative of an exhibitor, who treats animals in an inhumane manner or in a manner which appears to be inhumane, will be removed from the fairgrounds. All premiums and ribbons will be forfeited. 

3. Decision of the judge is final

4. New to 2022, exhibitors must purchase a SRMAS membership to compete ($5.00)

5. SRMAS will not be responsible for any damage or accident on the fairgrounds

Demonstration Obstacle Course

This challenging event tests the accuracy of the driver and the finesse and moveability of the heavy horse through a complex obstacle course. A fun event for to watch!
